š¾ Kyrgios and co can't be stopped
We donāt want to jinx it, but thereās a good chance another Aussie might win Wimbledon this year. Itās feeling like a real vibe.
Golden points: Weāre into the 2nd week of the tournament and there are still 4 Australians in the draw, headlined, of course, by Nick Kyrgios.
It is so fun watching him play. Unless youāre on the other side of the net. #4 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas was his latest victim and he was less than impressed.
He called Kyrgios a bully for his on-court behaviour and says that he must be stopped. Kyrgios responded to those comments by calling Tsitisipas "soft".
But Kyrgios is through to the 4th round and he could play another Aussie in the quarters if he and Alex de Minaur both win tonight.
What are the chances⦠Ajla TomljanoviÄ keeps winning? Her side of the draw has really opened up after Iga ÅwiÄ tek lost to AlizĆ© Cornet. She can reach the final 8 if she beats the Frenchwoman tonight.
Watch it: Chuck it on 9Gem and Stan Sport tonight from 8.00pm (AEST) to see the Aussies in action. Hereās the schedule of play so you can plan ahead.
š Fever too hot for the Vixens
Weāre getting hammered by an east coast low, but out in Perth, theyāre on a west coat high.
The score: Fever defeated Vixens 70-59.
Golden points: This party is going to be one for the ages because Perth has been waiting 25 years to win a netball title.
The drought is over after they won at home last night, and it was an easy watch for their fans because the Vixens were never really in it.
Jhaniele Fowler might be the best shooter ever. She landed 58/59 shots to help the Fever flip the script on their GF loss from 2 years ago.
Youāve gotta feel for the Vixens. They finished last in 2021, won this yearās minor premiership, but fell short after 2 losses to the Fever in 3 weeks.
Watch it: Check out these scenes at full-time.
š Wild crash mars British Grand Prix
Itās hard to imagine what would have happened this morning in Formula 1 if cars didnāt have the halo barrier to protect the driversā heads.
Golden points: There were terrifying scenes on the first turn of the first lap when Alfa Romeo driver Zhou Guanyu was sent spinning headfirst into the fence.
The race was stopped for 45 minutes after one of the biggest crashes in years, but Zhou is okay thanks to the halo.
There was another major incident on the first turn involving Alex Albon and a few other cars. He was taken to hospital and says he's okay too.
Itās hard to switch back to the actual race, but there was even more drama. Carlos Sainz won his first Grand Prix in his 150th race, ahead of Sergio Perez and Lewis Hamilton.
Whatās next: Thereās not much time to chill because the next race is in Austria on Sunday.
Watch it: Hereās what happened in front of 142,000 fans at Silverstone.
š Wallabies down but never out
There were a few of us seeing red when Darcy Swain was sent off on Saturday, but it wasn't enough to stop the Wallabies from snapping a losing streak.
Golden points: International rugby is back and so are the Wallabies. They beat England 30-28 in Perth and the fans are getting excited.
This looked like it was going to be one of those nights when Quade Cooper was ruled out after he hurt his calf in the warmup and then Tom Banks broke his arm in a sickening incident.
The Wallabies were then down a man when Swain got sent off for a headbutt which means heāll have to go to the judiciary tomorrow.
No sweat. The Aussies played on and scored 3 tries in a row to kick clear for their first win over England since 2015.
Whatās next: So the Wallabies just ended an 8-game losing streak to England. Letās see if they can go back-to-back on Saturday when the teams meet again in Brisbane.
š Which brings us to today's trivia question...
What position are the Wallabies in the world rugby rankings?
Answer at the bottom of the newsletter.
š„ Alexander the great broken but not beaten
If you didnāt already know, Alexander Volkanovski is a weapon in the Octagon. Itās safe to say that this isnāt breaking news to Max Holloway.
Golden points: Volkanovski retained his UFC featherweight title with his 3rd win over Holloway. And this was no ordinary win.
This sport is hard enough when youāre fully fit. Volkanovski did it after he broke his hand in the 2nd round.
The injury didnāt slow him down at all. He totally dominated the fight and won it 50-45 according to all 3 judges.
Even The Rock is a huge fan of Volkanovski who watched New Zealander Israel Adesanya retain his middleweight title in the main event.
Whatās next: The Aussie champ has now won 22 fights in a row and wants to move up a weight division for a bigger challenge.
š Quick singles

š We wonāt be seeing Mitchell Starc in this yearās Big Bash League. The Aussie quick could make heaps of money but says heās more concerned about staying fit for the national team.

š Richmondās win over West Coast may have come at a cost. Star midfielder Dustin Martin was subbed out with a hamstring injury and is in doubt for their next game.
š Left of field...
Okay Robbie, you have permission to entertain us.
Golden points: Get ready for some YouTube nostalgia because pop legend Robbie Williams is coming Down Under to perform at the AFL Grand Final.
Now this is pre-game entertainment that I can get around. This guy has sold more than 80 million records and heās released some bangers.
This is the first GF back at the MCG since 2019 and there should be about 100,000 people there to see him perform some of his biggest hits.
They said it: āIf it goes well, I might even put my hand up to be the next CEO of the AFL.ā - Williams is throwing his hat in the ring to replace outgoing boss Gillon McLachlan.
š½ The highlight reel
What a day in Perth. The Dockers held on to beat the Power in a game that probably had the mark and goal of the year.
